The research title is "Development of patient-specific 3D model considering anatomic and hemodynamic evaluations to enhance the treatment outcomes and success rate of the percutaenous pulmonary valve replacement". 2024. 4.10. We hosted Prof. A. Ramachandra (Iowa State University) in online seminar for our graduate lecture 'Cardiovascular Biomechanics'. Prof. Ramachandra shared his research work on "An Integrative Approach to Understand Vascular Adaptation:Vein Graft in Coronary Bypass Surgery". Graduate students from KAIST and Korea University joined together :)
2024. 3. 11. We are honored to have been selected as the first place recipient in the Asian-Pacific Grants for Innovative Research Plans competition (clinical research) during the 88th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Circulation Society held in Kobe, Japan. The grant was awarded to a researcher under 40 in Asia who proposed innovative research ideas.

2023. 11. 20. Prof. Seo participated in the 2023 Winter meeting of the Biomedical Engineering Society for Circulation (BESCO) held at Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong hospital. We are please to announce that our laboratory will serve the general affair office of BESCO for 2024-2026.

2023. 11. 17. Kieun presented "Quantitative visualization of the hemodynamics in patients with Fontan using virtual surgery and computatinal fluid dynamics" at the 2023 Fall meeting of the Korean Society of Visualization.
2023. 11. 14. Prof. Seo gave an invited virtual presentation to the research seminar series among computational biomechanics groups at Toronto, Canada. The talk was hosted by Prof. Khan at the Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering deparment at the Toronto Metropolitan University.
2023. 11. 3. Flow-X lab members participated in the KSME Fall conference. Kieun presented in the biofluid session. Jiwan, Yubin, Kyoungyoun presented at the fluid mechanics divisoin undergraduate competition session. Prof. Seo served a session chair role.
2023. 10. 18. Prof. Seo gave an invited seminar to the Mechanical Engineering department at Sogang University.
2023. 10. 16. Our lab's research proposal has been chosen for the Finalist in the Asia Pacific Grants for Innovative Research Plan during 88th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Circulation Society. We will be presenting at the JCS 2024 conference held at Kobe during the first week of March 2024!

2023. 10. 13-15. We officially participated in the 67th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Korean Society of Cardiology as both lead and co-authors. We participated in three oral presentations - one in Young Investigator Award Competition session (first author, Prof. Seo), two presenations in Pediatric Cardiology session (as co-first and co-author).
Prof. Seo was also invited to the cross-specialty session "BESCO-KSC Joint Session" (BESCO: Biomedical Engineering Society for Circulation) as a session panelist. We are very pleased to have honorable opportunities to share our research progresses on pediatric cardiology (Fontan, Kawasaki, and Tetralogy of Fallot) in the medical conference!
2023. 10. 06 Prof. Seo is invited to present our research work on the "CFD for the congenital heart disease patients" at the cardiothoracic division at the Seoul Asan Medical Center.
2023. 07. 28. Yeonbo and Bada won 1st place in the "2023 KHU Integrated Mechanical Design Contest" among 155 students. Kwangseon won bronze price in the field of thermo-fluid science. Their endeavors deserve recognition :) Congratulations!
2023. 07. 20. Yubin won the Excellence Award in the '2023 Self-Design Degree Development Contest' awarded by KHU! She has demonstrated exceptional creativity in designing her own dual-degree program, titled 'Engineering Design,' while pursuing her studies in mechanical engineering. This unique program seamlessly integrates human-centered design, mechanical engineering, and computer science. Prof. Seo is the advisor for this program.
Notably, Yubin holds the distinction of being the first student in the entire engineering school at KHU to propose and pursue a self-designed degree. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement! (학생설계전공 공모전 우수상 수상)
2023. 07. 17. We had the most amazing summer retreat together! We held a dinner making contest and enjoyed the amazing foods together. Congratulations to all for successfully completing the first year! You all truly deserve it :)
2023. 06. 29. Our laboratory will receive a partial funding support from the newly established "Intelligent Energy Convergence" graduate program at KHU for the next 5 years. 2023. 05. 30. Our laboratory's research funding proposal for the hemodynamic analysis of congenital heart disease patients has been approved by the National Research Foundation of Korea (한국연구재단 과제 수주). We are delighted to announce that we will receive support for the next 3 years.
